Charles Ray "The Man of Steel" Barnett

Charles Ray "The Man of Steel" Barnett, 73, of Bella Vista passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born August 25, 1943 in Aransas Pass, Texas to Pershing Overton and Towanda Jeanette Norvell Barnett. Charles worked for Jones Truck Lines and retired after 21 years of service, he then followed his passion for music as a professional entertainer and musician at Ozark Mountain Hoe Down for 10 years. His love for God drew him and Darlene to Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Springdale which he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents and two great-grandchildren, Izabella Grace Carmean and Ivie Marjorie Bush. Survivors include his wife, Darlene Barnett of the home; two sons, Rick Boone of West Fork and Randy Boone and wife Rhonda of Decatur; three daughters, Stephanie Whorton and husband Tim of Lincoln, Cyndi Copher and husband James of Norman, Oklahoma and Terri Teters and husband Myron of Springdale; one brother, Jerry Barnett and wife Rosie of Elkins; one sister Cherlene Artman and husband Rick of Missouri; 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and family members. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Springdale with Pastor Clark Snow and Rev. Wayne Morrison officiating. No visitation is planned.
