Bobby Gene Wilson, 91, of Greenland, Ark., passed away 21 Jan. 2017 at Willard Walker Hospice House with his family lovingly gathered with him. He was born 5 Nov. 1925 at Robinson, Benton Co., Ark, to James Oliver Wilson and Virginia Etta (Bruner) Wilson. He was a lifelong farmer in northwest Arkansas. He and Dorothy (Ware) Wilson were married 14 April 1951 at Augusta, Ga., while he was serving in the 844th Signal Radio Relay Company in the U.S. Army. After nearly twenty years in the Grade A Dairy business, then beef cattle, and poultry business, the couple enjoyed numerous trips to Florida, California, New Hampshire, and the Canadian Rockies. He was always a big fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, Dallas Cowboys, and joined other retirees at the weekday coffee club. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Woodrow O. Wilson, his sisters Ada Wilson, Billie Littrell, and Virginia Walker. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Springdale, Ark. He is survived by his wife of the home, Jim Wilson and wife Candes of Greenland, Mike Wilson and wife Shelly of Little Flock, and Rod Wilson and Donna of Greenland, seven grandchildren: David Wilson, Laura Caplena, Bobby Wray Wilson, Jessica Wilson, Tony Laughlin, Amanda Utsch, and Sarah Carlson, and ten great-grandchildren: Zander, Grainger, Esther, and Asher Wilson, Dayson and Brynlee Caplena, Brayden Simpson & Skylar Wilson, Nic and Dain Laughlin. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at Baptist Ford Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at Baptist Ford Church with Rev Judy VanHoose officiating. Burial will be at Baptist Ford Cemetery at Greenland, Ark. Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Springdale, Ark., or to Willard Walker Hospice House, Fayetteville, Ark.
