Dolores Frances Cook, 87, of Rogers passed away Saturday, January 7. She was born May 4, 1929 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Marion Paul Hamilton and Nellie Faye Hutchens Hamilton. For 50 years she was the loving wife of William Earl "Bill" Cook who preceded her. While her children were young, she enjoyed the life of a homemaker, sewing, quilting, being a Den Mother and was treasurer and an active member of Extension Homemakers Club for over 50 years. Her active life included playing bridge, representing Welcome Wagon for 18 years and serving as Church secretary, pianist and organist. She was a member of First Christian Church of Rogers and the Red Hat Society. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded by her siblings, Marian Hamilton Finlay, Richard Hamilton and David Hamilton; a son, Barry Cook and a grandson, Steven Cook. Survivors include her children, Brian Cook of Rogers, William "Bill" Cook (Sharon) and Bruce Cook (Georgia) of Fayetteville; her grandchildren, Shawn Cook, Amber Cook, Sheri Cook McEntire, Rachel Cook Holt and Melissa Cook Mashburn; great grandchildren, Jameson Cook, Isabel Cook, Kayley Cook, Anica Cook McEntire, Kaydence Cook McEntire, Zoey Holt, Derrick Mashburn, Kaitlyn Mashburn and Emily Mashburn; nieces, April, Amber, Cheryl, Sharon, Rita, Kathy and Sherry; nephews, Darrell and Mickey as well as numerous friends and her church family. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, January 14, 2017 in First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Rogers.
