Sam Farfalla

Sam Farfalla, 88, passed away Dec. 29, 2016 in Rogers, Ark. after an extended illness. Sam was born Oct. 17, 1928 in Kansas City, Mo. to Italian immigrants Pietro "Pete"and Maria Farfalla. Shortly after his birth, the Farfalla family moved to Omaha, Neb. where he grew up. Sam was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War and earning two bronze stars. He was energetic, hardworking, and independent, running his own successful cement construction contractor business for decades, mostly in the Los Angeles, Calif. area. His reputation for quality work kept him constantly busy. Sam was preceded in death by both parents; five sisters; and four brothers. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Donna of Bella Vista, Ark.; daughter, Debbie (Bruce) Wolcott of Cabiness, Okla.; son, David (Linda) of Granada Hills, Calif.; granddaughters, Jena (Bill) Feola, Jessica (Brent) Perteet, and Jolleen (Daniel) Perteet; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial graveside service with military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.
