Mary Rae Mullican, 58, of Lowell, Arkansas, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at her home. She was born March 27, 1958 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Jack and Leona "Mike" Michael Vandagriff. Mary was a very giving person. She was very dedicated to her work as a special education teacher and mental health counselor, and was one of the counselors that assisted families victimized by the Oklahoma City bombing. She was a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University. Mary enjoyed bird watching and was devoted to the care of her family. She is survived by her husband, David, whom she married Sep. 23, 1995 in Lawton, Okla.; three children, Maggie Mullican of Fayetteville, Ark., David Mullican, Jr. of Springdale, Ark., Stephanie Sampler of Glenpool, Okla.; one brother, Mark Vandagriff of Dallas, Texas; and three grandchildren, Kendra Sampler, Ryleigh Mullican and Ryan Mullican. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, online guestbook at www.heritageofnwa.com.
