Johnnie Lee Allred went home to be with the Lord Sunday February 19, 2017. He was born in Osage, Arkansas, July 16, 1937 to Booker Euclid and Bessie Grace (Smith) Allred. His early years were spent around the Osage area until he was 14. At that time he left home for California where his brother Troy lived. He worked as a farm laborer until he entered the Air Force in November of 1955. He was stationed in France for several years and while there married Colette M V Cammerates in 1959 and they had three children. Vehicle maintenance was his duty and he had a knack for diagnosing any vehicle problem. The military was their life and they were stationed at various bases, coming to Whiteman AFB in 1969. He retired from the air force in 1975. In 1972 be built Allred Auto Sales & Service in Knob Noster and operated that business until 2005. At that time he moved the business to his home and operated there until 2010. He loved anything automotive and restored several tractors during his life. He was meticulous about them and they always looked and ran good. He was also a member of the Lions and the Gideons. In 1993 he married Janell who survives of the home. She worked alongside him in the automotive business and was a teacher for 20 years; retiring last year to be home with him. Survivors include his wife, daughter Chantal and husband Victor Ross, daughter, Jackie and husband Les Maples, and son, Pat and wife Janice. Grandchildren Clint, Victor II, Tristan Ross; Jenny Gibbs and Blake Maples; and Hilary Umbles, Casey, Brady, PJ Allred and 10 great-grandchildren that loved their GPoppy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Chancie and Troy and sister Betty Jo. Pallbearers are Clint Ross, Victor Ross II, Tristan Ross, Blake Maples, Kevin Gibbs, and Michael Hudiburg. Services will be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty, Arkansas on Thursday, February 23, at 11 a.m. with burial in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. A memorial will be held in Knob Noster at a later date.
