Clyde Davis, 79, of Fort Smith died Feb. 17, 2017 in Fort Smith. He was born Aug. 18, 1937 in Springfield, Ark., to Henry Robinson and Anna Mae Dancer Davis. He was a retired claims adjustor for Hartford Insurance Company. He received his bachelor's degree from Hendrix College and met his future wife there. He loved fishing, golfing, camping, and four-wheeling. Clyde became a Christian in October of 1980 and served his God faithfully for 37 years and he was a member of the River Valley Community Church. We believe God has said to Clyde, Well done my good and faithful servant. Many people have loved Clyde and enjoyed his sense of humor. They simply don't make many men like Clyde Davis anymore. Clyde is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kay of the home; one daughter, Susan Davis and fiancé, Jay Correa of Fort Smith; one son, Brad and wife Richie of Dallas, Texas, and beloved granddaughter, Lindsey Swinson of Rogers; sister-in-laws, Rosemary Pitts and Sherry Cargile and husband Kenny. Memorial service will be Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial of cremains to follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
