Thelma Nadine Hawkins, 92, of Rogers, went to be with Jesus on February 8, 2017. She was born on January 14, 1925 in Judsonia, Ark., to Andrew Jackson Lovitte and Ella Frances Immel Lovitte. Nadine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lowell. She retired from Tyson Foods after 23 years. A devoted mother, homemaker, and gardener, she was as proud of her family as she was of her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Irene Burt; her first husband, Bill Purcell, Jr., who was killed in WWII; and her second husband, Ernest William Hawkins. She is survived by two sons, Buddy Hawkins and wife Linda of Bentonville, Gary Hawkins and wife Kathy of Rogers; six daughters, Joan Purcell Norris and husband Melvin of Rogers, Barbara Ward of Bentonville, Judy Thomas of Rogers, Donna Ensign of Bentonville, Vicki Scates and husband Tony of Rogers, Sherry Morrison and husband Dell of Rogers; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two nieces; and a nephew. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 10 at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Rollins Funeral Home. Brother Ben Rowell will officiate. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery.
