Roy Albert Hance, Jr, age 92, Rogers, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, December 4, 2017. Born November 24, 1925 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of Roy Albert Hance, Sr and Bernice Hance (Dague). He served his country during World War II where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge under the command of General George S. Patton as a member of the Third US Army, 282nd Engineer Combat Battalion. He received several Medals during his service. He and his wife, Virginia Hance (Patterson), met in Salt Lake City, Utah and married in 1957. After marriage they moved to Pea Ridge, AR where they spent most of their lives. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. During his spare time he was skilled at working on small engines and selling and repairing lawn mowers. He was a member of the Pea Ridge VFW Post # 8109 and served as Commander of the Post for 10 years. He was a member of the Mt Vernon Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge. Roy was retired from Walmart Distribution Center #4 where he worked in Maintenance. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy Albert Hance Sr. and his mother, Bernice Hance. Roy is survived by his wife, his daughters, Gaya Sharp and Regina Stephens, their husbands, Ken Sharp and Bill Stephens, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at the Buttram's Chapel Cemetery in Pea Ridge, Ark. at a later date.
