Lloyd "Clay" Nichols, 63, of Bella Vista passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at his home, from glioblastoma (brain cancer) with his significant other, Pat Torres, at his side. Clay was born on April 11, 1954, in El Dorado, Kan. to Alva and Ollie McConnell Nichols. They moved to Springdale, AR when he was about four years of age. He was proud to call himself an Arkansas Hillbilly. He attended Springdale High School but left early to enlist in the US Army, receiving his high school diploma while stationed in Alaska. He served with pride for four years in the Army and following that, two years in the National Guard. He was a man of many talents, enjoying bass fishing, playing guitar and pool. He went to NW Vocational Technical School to become a long haul truck driver in 1984. He had a long career driving the roads of the United States until the injury that he received while in the service sidelined him. He is survived by his significant other, Pat Torres and two brothers, Gene Nichols and Carl Nichols. He has been preceded in death by his parents and his other two brothers, Muriel and Jesse Nichols.
