Funeral services for Ray Willis, 74, of Tulsa will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Cowboy Gatherin' Church in Inola. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stephens-Key Chapel in Pryor. Services are entrusted to Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care. Gerald Ray Willis was born on March 8, 1943 to Marvin John and Zora (Chitwood) Willis in Pryor, Oklahoma. He departed this life on August 4, 2017 at his home in Tulsa at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 27 days. Ray grew up and attended school in Pryor graduating with the class of 1961. In mid-1970 he moved from Pryor to West Tulsa. He married DeLania Wilson in 1988. She preceded him in death in February of 2013. Ray worked as a cable splicer for several years at Industrial Splicing in Tulsa before retiring in 2010. He was an honorary member of the Springdale, Arkansas FFA and was very active in the organizations rodeo clowning. He attended church at Cowboy Gatherin' in Inola. Ray was a very skilled horseman; he loved breaking and training horses. He also loved riding broncs and pasture roping. He was a spirited person who loved to tease and have fun. He was always playing practical jokes, especially with his caribou horn and loaded cigarettes. Ray loved horses and loved his family more than anything. He was a true cowboy and a great man that will be missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his five children, Kellie Willis Stuckey and husband Dennis of Beggs, T. Raylene Rogers and husband Jimmy of Beggs, Kelli Moore and husband Jerry of Nowata, Rachael Leonard of Oakhurst and Teri Fowler of Muskogee; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister Lucille McAnelly of Edmond and two brothers, Bill Willis and wife Viva of Pryor and Dale Willis and wife Shelly of Pryor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Zora and his wife DeLania. In lieu of traditional remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the Cowboy Gatherin' Wildfire Relief Victims in memory of Ray. Please send donations to P.O.
