Fletcher Russell Williams
Fletcher Russell Williams, 88, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at his home.
Fletcher was born on January 28, 1929 at King's River, Ark., a son of Jack and Sarah Williams. He was one of 11 children. Fletcher proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 in Battery "B" 553rd Infantry. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Fayetteville from 1965 to 2017, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and a song leader. He worked many years at the Standard Register of Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Willie, Ed and Tommy Williams; seven sisters, Maggie Baughman, Mamie Baughman, Janie Burks, Luginia Jones, Dixie Easterling, Helen Winn and Frankie Williams. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Imogene Williams; his son Michael Williams; his daughter Kayla and husband James Dickson; grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Lindsey and husband Bardley Frederick, Micah Miller, and Sean Dickson; great-grandchildren, Jaden Williams and Cooper Frederick.
Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. Pastor Jim Spurlock to officiate the service.
