Richard Eugene Zielsdorf

Richard Eugene Zielsdorf, 90, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died April 27, 2017. He was born on December 25, 1926 in Wellsville, Kansas to Clyde Franklin Zielsdorf and Esther Margaret (Jacoby) Zielsdorf. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the US Army of Occupation in Korea 1945-1946. He was a 3rd degree Freemason and a member of Wyandotte Lodge #3, Kansas City, Kansas, a member of Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen from 1947 – 1989 and member of AARP. He moved with his family to Bella Vista in July 1989 from Kansas City, Kansas, when he retried after 42 years for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of the Bella Vista Christian Church where he had served as Church Treasurer from October 1992 through 2000 and then continued as Assistant Missions Treasurer from 2002 through 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 45 years, Jesse Rose Zielsdorf on February 5, 2007, son, John S. Zielsdorf, two sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Karen J. Park and husband, Tom of Bella Vista, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Vicki (Stockdale) Zielsdorf; sister, C. Ann Lizer and brother-in-law, Earl Lizer of Garnett, Kansas; six grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Nicholas, Matthew Zielsdorf, and Rhyannon and Trey Park; and one great-grandson. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 2nd at New Life Christian Church, 103 Riordan Road, Bella Vista, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 4th in Walnut Creek Cemetery, 3 miles south on Hwy 33 in Wellsville, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Christian Church, Memorial Fund, 103 Riordan Road, Bella Vista, Arkansas 72714 or to Shiloh Children's Ranch, General Fund, P.O.
