Thomas Douglas Fleer, 74 of Bentonville passed away Monday, April 24. He was born March 8, 1943 in Washington, Missouri to the late Daniel and Viola Sherman Fleer. Along with his parents, he was preceded by 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Mr. Fleer proudly served in the US Army and Air National Guard. He retired from a career in the shoe industry as a Product Development Manager. He not only enjoyed camping, fishing, and the outdoors he enjoyed teaching and sharing those skills as a Boy Scout leader. For a number of years he planned the camporees, activities and even designed the badges for the St. Louis area Boy Scouts. Mr. Fleer was heavily involved in his communities, such as being the president of the Jaycees in Farmington, Mo. and the President of the Monett, Mo. high school Booster Club. His main passion was his family. He coached many of his children's sports teams, but one of his favorite things to do was cook large Sunday dinners which not only his family loved but many of his kid's friends enjoyed as well. He was the loving husband of Donna Gildehaus Fleer who survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Christy (Kirby) Krueger of Monett, Missouri; two sons, Todd (Andrea) Fleer of Jonesboro, AR and Jason (Summer) Fleer of Bentonville; eight grandchildren, three brothers, numerous nieces, nephews cousins and dear friends. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today, Thursday, April 27 at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 noon Friday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with interment to follow in Bentonville Cemetery.
