Michael Jaye Maniord, Jr, lead guitarist for the band "South Bound Train" passed away unexpectedly Friday March 24, 2017 in his Omaha, AR home at the age of 45. He is survived by his mother and step father Barbara and David White of Rogers; his father Michael Maniord, Sr. of Modesto, Ca; his fiancée Kimberly Smith of the home; his maternal grandfather Andrew Silva of Hindsville AR; his sons Michael Long of Springfield Mo, Alexander Maniord and stepson Justin Smith, both of the home; his sisters Jamie Buckman of Rogers, Breanna Maniord, and Julie Maniord-Williams both of Modesto Ca. He was predeceased by his wife Becky Disterhaupt-Maniord; his maternal grandmother Norma Lewis, his paternal grandparents Vernie and George Maniord. Michael was born in Los Angeles, CA July 1, 1971. He grew up in CA, and moved to Ark. in his early 20's. At the young age of 8 he learned to play guitar. His talent for the guitar was extraordinary. He also played piano and wrote a number of songs, one of which was sold to a country song producer. He loved to share anything about the Lord to anyone who would listen. When he met the members from "South Bound Train", they happened to be looking for a guitarist. Meeting them and his fiancée made him happier than he'd ever been. If you were lucky enough to meet him he made an impact in your life in some way. He will be truly missed. Memorial services will be Friday April 7 at 3 p.m. in Springdale at The American Legion 200 Spring St. There will be a gathering directly following.
