Charles Vernon Wood, 51 of Elkins, formerly of Wesley passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his home. He was born September 29, 1964 in Springdale to Virgil Wood and Juanita Lewis-Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward Wood. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Shelia Wood of the home; children, Derrek Wood and wife Stephanie of Elkins, Sarah Bennett and husband Thomas of Hindsville and Marlaina Shelbourn and husband Shane of Bethel Heights; siblings, Lorene Prunty and husband Jimmy of Elkins, Lonnie Wood and wife Sue of Hindsville, Loretta Villines and husband Donnie of Jasper, Jerry Wood and wife Pat of Pettigrew, Brenda Slate, Glenda Wood and Lou Graves and husband David all of Hindsville; seven grandchildren, Natalie Wood, Ethan Bennett, Logan Bennett, Levi Wood, Carlie Wood, Landon Bennett and Kaden Shelbourn and several other family members and friends.The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September, 27, 2016 at Harmony Baptist Church in Huntsville. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Old Time Baptist Church in Deer, Ark. with Brother Jerry Wood and Brother Craig Villines officiating.
