Photo of Jim E. Wright
Jim E. Wright was called home to our Lord on Tuesday October 25, 2016 in Fayetteville. Born on July 8, 1929 in Snomac, Oklahoma, the son of Eugene and Lilly Harris Wright, Jim lived his life on his terms for 87 years. Whether you knew him as Jim, Jimmy Gene, Pops, or Mr. Zero, he was a man who could cook up a storm and not just in the kitchen. He was a prankster, storyteller, dreamer—the person who always pushed you to follow yours and sometimes his dreams. Jim was a soldier, serving valiantly in the Korean War. He moved to California and met Patty Lou Cicero, they fell in love, had five children and many years of laughs, tears, highs, and lows—a life well lived. Jim now joins his parents, his brothers and sisters, and his beloved wife, to weave his magical tales for eternity. He is survived by his three daughters, Sandra Orlando and her husband Tim of Mountain View, California, Priscilla Wright of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Teresa Sandoval and her husband Hector of McDonough, Georgia; two sons, James Wright of Tualatin, Oregon and Ted Wright of Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren, Danielle Wright, Stephanie Wright, Lilly Wright, and J.J. Wright. Memorial celebration will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday October 29 at the Elkins Community Center, 162 Doolin Drive, Elkins, Ark. A private graveside service for family will be 2 p.m. Monday October 31, 2016 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Cremation is under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
