Mamie Irene Hill

Mamie Irene Hill passed away on August 2, 2016, at the age of 102 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas, after a brief illness. She was born on March 27, 1914 in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a supportive wife in her husband's military career as an Army officer for 24 years. She was a caring mother and grandmother. She took great pride in her extended Harlan family including her brothers and sisters, keeping in close contact with them as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed cultivating the plants and flowers surrounding her home and particularly loving her red rose plants. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Lee O. Hill Sr. She is survived by her son, Lt. Col. Lee O. Hill Jr. of Midlothian, Virginia, and her daughter-in-law, Beverly M. Hill; her granddaughter, April Elizabeth Crawford of North Palm Beach, Florida; her sisters, Vera Hardin of Forsyth, Missouri, and Lula Harrison in Oklahoma; and brothers, John Adair of Mobile, Alabama, and Jack Duggar in Oklahoma. A graveside service will be October 27, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Fayetteville National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home.
