Mary Margaret Webb, 75, of Pea Ridge, died Sunday, October 16, at her home. She was born July 2, 1941, in Van Buren, Arkansas, to Leo Clarence Russell and Helen Vera Wilson Russell. She was licensed as a lab and x-ray technician through the University of Oklahoma and was employed at Bates Hospital, Springdale Medical Clinic, Pea Ridge Medical Clinic and The Garrett-Goss Clinic. At the Pea Ridge Medical Clinic she assisted Dr. Homer Russell, who was the first doctor for the City of Pea Ridge, get the clinic started and running smoothly. She was instrumental in starting the Gifted and Talented program for the students of the Pea Ridge School System. She was the founder of Granny's Quilts of Love of Pea Ridge, who as of this date, have made and donated 23,000 quilts for the children at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and cherished the time she shared with her husband, kids, and grandkids. She spent countless hours cooking meals for her family and sitting on the bleachers watching her kids, and grandkids play basketball, baseball, football, and softball. She was a member of Twelve Corners Baptist Church where she was the Vacation Bible School director and a Sunday School teacher for many years when her children were young. She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cassie Webb; two sisters, Barbara Loyd and Sandra Dawson. Survivors are her husband, Kent Webb of the home; one daughter, Lisa Crowder and husband Todd of Bentonville; and Lindsey, Reece, and Dawson Crowder all of Bentonville; her friend and caregiver, Rhonda Day, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Granny's Quilts of Love, 1220 South Curtis Avenue, Pea Ridge, Ark. 72751. Funeral is set for 11 a.m., Thursday, October 20, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. Visitation is set for 10 a.m., Thursday, October 20, one hour before the service begins.
