Albert "Al" Donald Maidt Jr., 80, of Rogers died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born September 29, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the son of Louamma Edwards Franklin and Albert D. Maidt. He served in the US Army. Albert enjoyed hunting, shooting guns, and tinkering with cars. The most important thing in his life was his family and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He moved to the Northwest Arkansas area in 1983 after moving from Woodland Park, Colorado. He was a member of the Rogers Gun Club for many years, and was a Mason. He was preceded in death by: his parents and one sister. Albert is survived by his wife: Patricia P. Maidt, whom he married December 27, 1959, one son: Albert "Buck" Maidt III and his wife Inthasone Phoumivong, of Rogers, one daughter: Patricia Maidt Baggett, and her husband Barry, of Rogers, and three grandchildren: Gwyneth Baggett, Willem Maidt, and Maxwell Maidt. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 23rd at 4 p.m. at the Maidt's family home. Al was a wonderful man! He never met someone he didn't call friend. He would give you the shirt off his back and drive all night to come get you if you needed him to. He would support all your endeavors like a fanatic. He would tease you til you laughed or cried. If you know him, please drink a martini dirty with olives and onions in the next few days to honor his life.
