Juanita (Nanny) Bowles East

Juanita (Nanny) Bowles East, 82, passed away on November 19, 2016 in Springdale at her home. She was born on January 23, 1934 on White Rock Mountain in Crawford County to the late Charlie and Annie (Wilson) Bowles. She was the wife of the late James East. She lived in Springdale for more than 40 years and enjoyed creating art in all forms and gardening. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Harvey; brothers Idaus Bowles and Morriss Bowles; and sisters, Bula Fay Hopper and Frankie Baker. Nanny is survived by her sons, David Harvey (Judy), Doil Harvey (Lorie), Russell East; daughters, Carmel Harvey Mendez, Reba Hamilton (Jimmy), Carol Harvey Davis (Kevin), Brenda East Mabry (Doug) and Shirley East; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as, friends. Visitation will be on Friday from 10-11 a.m. with service to follow in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will be at 2 p.m. in Bidville Cemetery, Crawford County, East of Winslow.
