David Eugene (Gene) Oxford, age 84, of Ozark passed away November 21, 2016, in Fort Smith. He was born February 9, 1932, in Habberton, Arkansas, the son of Elbert and Opal Clark Oxford. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy; two sisters, Christina Scroggins and Janice Odoam; and one brother, Robert Oxford. Gene attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Fayetteville. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He belonged to a Christian bikers club. He retired from a long career as owner and operator of Gene's Machine Shop. He is survived by his two daughters Debra Warden and husband Alvin of Ozark and Gina Hilderbrandt and husband Steve of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one son, Danny Oxford and wife Lecie of Fayetteville; one sister JoAnn Lewis of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Cheryl Warden, Wesley Warden, Sharonna Parker, Nikki Rottmayer, Sarah Hilderbrandt, Cody Hilderbrandt, and Jordan Oxford; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 12–1 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Moore's Chapel Funeral Home in Fayetteville. The service will held at 1 .p.m at Moore's Chapel with interment to follow at 2 p.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
