David Walter Monaghan

David Walter Monaghan, age 78, passed away November 19, 2016 in Bentonville, Arkansas. David retired with his loving wife Sharon in Bella Vista, Arkansas. He was born September 18, 1938 in Taylorville, Illinois, the son of Dr. William Arthur Monaghan and Salome Margaret (Thomson) Monaghan. David was predeceased by his brother, William Monaghan and his sisters, Eileen Moody, Patricia Mohs and June O'Sullivan. He was educated at the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of Southern California and Harvard University. While providing for his family through his career as a financial executive, David was the center of a family life full of humor, discussions and outdoor activities including fishing at the bay of Otter Tail Lake in Northern Minnesota. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Lee (Sill) Monaghan from Seattle, Washington; three children, Shawn Eileen Thornsberry of Kirkland, Washington, Robert David Monaghan of Redmond, Washington and Colleen Ann Monaghan of Needham, Massachusetts; as well as five grandchildren.
