Richard Steffes, age 91, of West Fork, died Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Fayetteville. He was born August 27, 1925 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, the son of Ralph and Lucille Borgmann Steffes. He was preceded in death by his first two wives, Helen Meeker Steffes and Dolly Steffes; one sister, Jean Johnson and his brother, Bud Steffes. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville. He was a retired firefighter with the City of San Diego, California. During World War II he served in the United States Navy and during the Korean Conflict he served in the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Steffes; his son, Mark Edward Steffes of Gentry, Arkansas, four stepsons, Lloyd Leroy Volgamore of Colorado, Raymond Dean Volgamore of Clarksville, Arkansas, Joey Brian Volgamore of Fayetteville and Danny Wayne Volgamore of Denton, Texas; stepdaughter, Susan Reed of West Fork; three sisters, Lorraine Wyrick of Marietta, Georgia. Mary Ann Metcalf of Pueblo, Colorado and Mona Denny of Minnetonka, Minnesota; a brother, Father Raymond Steffes of Mille Lacs Lake, Minnesota; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held 3 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2016 at Our Lady of the Ozarks Shrine in Winslow, Arkansas. Burial will follow in Our Lady of the Shrine Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
