Helen Bratton Bocquet, 95, of Fayetteville, Arkansas went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Helen was born November 17, 1920, in Cleburne, Texas to Harvey and Mary Ann Bratton. She was raised in Cleburne and attended Texas State College for Women (now Texas Woman's University) earning a Bachelor of Arts & Science in Education. While in college she met her future husband, James Calise Boudreaux, on a blind date to a dance at Texas A&M University. They married in 1942 and made their home in Houston, Texas. When James passed away in 1952, Helen taught typing and business courses in the Houston Public Schools. Through an introduction by her college roommate and future sister-in-law, Blanche Bocquet Beechie, she married Philip Edmund Bocquet in 1958, and in 1961, they made their home in Fayetteville. Helen was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville and the BH chapter of PEO. Helen served her family, her friends, and her husbands by investing in their lives with her time, her love, her understanding and her gift of hospitality. She invested in her community by volunteering with her church, the United Way, Fayetteville City Hospital, her children's schools and activities, the Red Cross, and serving as President of the University Women's Club. She cherished her friendships in the local community, and especially enjoyed her lunch bunch groups and cheering on the Razorbacks with her friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her brother and sister, Morris Harvey Bratton and Moye Ann Bratton Baeuchle, her daughter-in-law, Cheryl A. Boudreaux, and a host of extended family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Ray M. Boudreaux (Brenda), Ann B. Fairchild, Phillip B. Boudreaux (Anna), and Lisa B. Hope (Alan), her grandchildren: David Boudreaux (Melissa), Stephen Boudreaux (Brin), Matthew Boudreaux (Kristi), Trey Fairchild, Elizabeth Clark (Jeff), James Fairchild (Meg), Rae Rhodes (Matt), Sara Tyler (Clint), Cal Boudreaux, Adam Hope, Helen Hope, Olivia Hope, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many extended family members. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. A celebration of Helen's life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 19th at Moore's Chapel with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until service time. A private interment will be held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, (20 East Dickson Street, Fayetteville, Ark. 72701) or to the Philip E. and Helen B.
