Binford Allen "Ben" Bratcher

Binford Allen "Ben" Bratcher, 76, of Hot Springs, Ark., formerly of Fayetteville, Ark. was taken to heaven by his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Born in Clarksdale, Miss., January 1, 1940, he is preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Agnes Triplett Bratcher and his father, Arthur Allen Bratcher. He is survived by his wife, Mary Denise West Bratcher; his sister, Betty Sue Bratcher Flowers of Clarksdale, Miss.; his brother, John Arthur William Bratcher of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two daughters: Laura Bratcher Page (Robert) of Scottsboro, Ala., and Karen Bratcher Hansen (Bryant) of Prattville, AL; one son: Joseph Allen Bratcher of Memphis, Tenn.; seven grandchildren: Charles Page (Erica); Kiersten Hansen; Wesley Hansen (Casey); Stuart Page; John Peter Hansen; Samuel Hansen and Hayleigh Hansen; and three great-granddaughters: Natalie, Eleanor and Judith Page. Ben graduated from Forrest City (AR) High School (Class of 1957) and attended the University of Arkansas and Memphis State University. A Specialist First Class in the United States Army Reserve, he lived and worked in the Memphis area as a businessman, and served as a reserve officer of the Memphis Police Department, until his retirement in 2005. A memorial service will be held for Ben, a lifelong Presbyterian, at First Presbyterian Church of Clarksdale, Miss. on Friday, November 18 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, Ga. 30047, or www.lbda.org.
