Leonard Carl (Caliguiri) Kelly, age 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. He was born on December 5, 1926, in Dean Springs, Arkansas, to Frank Pasquale Caliguiri and Maude Gibson Kelly. Leonard was preceded in death by his two brothers, Frankie and Roland Kelly; and one sister, Arlene Kelly Woodward. Leonard was a loving family man. He was known for his stone mason and excavation work. His many projects include the Fayetteville Public Library, the Walton Arts Center, Agripark Pavilion, Legion Hut, the Jones Center, numerous buildings for the University of Arkansas, and many local homes. Leonard owned the first Case backhoe in Washington County. His greatest love was music and the piano. He could always be found playing for local benefits and town functions. The Kelly's barn will always be remembered as a place that hosted local benefits and was full of music. Leonard was a member of the Arkansas Fiddler's Association. He is survived by his devoted wife, Frances Kelly; his three brothers, Joe Kelly, Tony Kelly and wife Liz, and Jimmy Kelly, all of Fayetteville; his two sisters, Cathleen Gooding and husband Ivan of Fayetteville, and Barbara Gabbard of Prairie Grove; his six sons, Frank Carl Kelly and wife Ann of Fayetteville, Bill Kelly and wife Linda of Fayetteville, Charles Wayne Kelly and wife Carolyn of Springdale, Jack Allen of Fayetteville, Dennis Lee Kelly and wife Phyllis of Goshen, and Lynn Kelly and wife Joyce of Elkins; one daughter, Leona Kelly Prothero and husband Paul of Fayetteville; eighteen grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016, at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
