Joseph Gerard Vasterling

My precious, wonderful, perfect husband, Joseph Gerard Vasterling, 53, of Bentonville passed away in my arms on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 6:05 p.m. Joseph was a kind, caring and compassionate man. He would do anything to help someone in need. Joseph gave his last dollar to help someone else more than once. God brought us together and we saved each other by sharing a powerful and flawless Love we had never known. We never fought or argued. We respected each other and were always aware of the other's needs. Joseph was my greatest comfort and I was his. We were Best friends and confidants. We told each other "I Love You" endlessly every single day. We held hands, hugged, and tenderly placed our kisses upon the other, which was always followed by; "I Love You." No Love could have been greater and no better man could there ever be. Joseph was an intelligent, hard working man and for four years proudly served our country in the NAVY during the Desert Storm War. He earned a Bachelors Degree in College and worked for several large companies who depended on him to keep their computer systems up and running. His favorite job was working at the KRAFT foods office in Rogers, Ark. until March of 2008 when he had a massive hemorrhagic stroke and fell into a coma at home. Joseph wasn't supposed to live, but he was a fighter and, through the grace of God, we were blessed to have him with us for another eight years and seven months. Joseph deeply Loved and inspired his six children: Olivia Vasterling, 11 years, Jonathan Vasterling, Matthew Anderson, Dustin Anderson with wife, Christina, Elizabeth Glass with husband, Grant, and Alicia Anderson. There wasn't anything their Daddy wouldn't do for them. Joseph cherished his four grandsons: Oliver, Damien, Caleb, Easton Gerard, and our grandchild on the way. Joseph loved his cousin Barb, who was his favorite playmate and alibi in his youth. Joseph also loved our best friends, Karen Norvell, and his "Bud" Dusty Rogers. They brought joy and laughter to his life. Joseph's parents were Mary Jean, whom he adored, and Donald Vasterling. His sisters, Mary and Amy and brother Michael were loved more than Joseph could say. This world has lost a great man. There will never be another one like him. Heaven just became a sweeter place to want to be. God Bless you Sweetie. Thank you for the BEST years of my live. I'll see you again someday, with your arms out stretched ready for another hug, a tender kiss, and an eternity of "I Love You's". Forever my Love, "wife" DeLayne. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association to help save lives like Joseph's. Joseph's funeral will be Friday, October 4 at 2 p.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
