Lynn Plunkett, 63, of Fort Smith, passed from this life May 27, 2016 in Fort Smith. She was born, Oct. 7, 1952 in Fort Smith to John and Jean Dickie Schneider. Lynn was co-owner, with her husband, Bill, of Plunkett Optical and was a long standing member of First Baptist Church Fort Smith. Lynn was a beloved wife, caring mother, Nana to her seven grandchildren. She will be missed by many and left an amazing legacy and lasting impression on everyone she came in contact with. We will dearly miss her in every way possible. She had a voice and laugh that was contagious and loved by her friends and family members. The family wants to thank the staff at Mercy ICU for taking care of our mother. She is survived by her husband, Bill; three children: son, Brent Speaker and wife, Ami of Fort Smith; daughter, Carrie Martin and husband, Justin of Alma; and son, Ryan Plunkett and wife, Cheyanne of Fayetteville; one brother, Dick Renfro; seven grandchildren: Hayley, Drake, Aden, Makenzie, Zachary, Brooks and Reese; one great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kim Schneider. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at First Baptist Church Fort Smith with burial following at Oak Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Gary Howe, Steve Yaney, Javier Ulloa, Brent Warren, Josh Lineberry, and Derek Pogue. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Plunkett, Rick Stroud, Paul Hester, and Jerry Denton. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
