Glen Allyn Hahn

Glen Allyn Hahn, October 21, 1947 – May 20, 2016. It's hard to comprehend the mixture of emotions that come when the one you have loved most of your life passes away, until you experience it. Joy because Glen has been released from the cruel prison that Parkinson's Disease caused in his body. Sorrow because the lifelong companion, best friend, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend will be sorely missed by those of us he left behind. Glen was promoted to Glory on Friday, May 20, 2016, at his home, surrounded by those he loved and who love him. His fight with Parkinson's Disease lasted nearly 20 years, trapping his indomitable spirit in a weakening vessel. He retired from working as an educator and counselor, influenced many young men to reach Eagle Scouts as a Scoutmaster, taught Sunday School, served as a deacon, and loved his family. He leaves behind his very devoted wife, Sheryl Broughton Hahn, son, Brian Hahn with wife Natalie, daughter, Emily Allen and the husband Justin Allen, and son Andrew Allyn Hahn. His nine grandchildren, Ethan, Julia, Asa, Astrid, Ezra, Anson, Juni, Dovie, and Clementine. Brothers: Gene (Sandy) and Gary (Missy). Sisters-in-love: Brenda Chaney (Scott) and Carol Maier. Brother-in-law: Mark Broughton (Allison); nephews: Gary, Brock, Jacob, Clint, Adam, Jason, Web, Conner, Caleb, Micah, and Luke. Nieces: Miranda, Haley, Ruthie, Rebekah, Stacy, Noelle, Misty, Sadie, and Willow. A memorial service will be held at Cross Church Springdale Campus, on May 21, 2016 at 4 p.m. in the south worship center. No flowers please. Donations should be made to Cross Church, Springdale Missions, Gideon's International, or Circle of Life Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale.
