Thomas "Taylor" Hudson, 40, of Springdale, passed away tragically on Wednesday, May 11, alongside his beloved daughter, Sophia Presley Hudson. He is survived by his son, Tommy Hudson, 13, of Springdale; his parents, Tommy and Vikki Hudson, of Harrison; his sister, Brooke Andrews and husband Eric; and his nephew, Cooper Andrews. He was a member of Mary Mother of God Catholic Church. Taylor graduated in 1994 from Rogers High School as captain of both the baseball and football teams as a Mountie. He graduated from Ole Miss, where he played on the baseball team, as did his father. He graduated in 1998 with a degree in International Business, earning a Minor in Spanish. He was a State Farm Agent in Springdale at the time of his passing. Taylor's greatest love was that of his two children, Tommy and Presley. They made him so proud on a daily basis, so much so that he would cut himself off from bragging on them because he didn't want to ramble. His eyes lit up when Presley would show everyone her latest dance move or when Tommy would display his latest card trick for the family. He was especially close to his sister Brooke, and everyone who knew them recognized that they had a very special, legendary, close relationship from the moment she was born. Taylor was an avid sportsman and loved crappie fishing and hunting. Baseball remained a passion with Taylor throughout his life, especially his Rebels. He was so proud that his son, also, shared that passion and loved watching him play ball. Probably anyone who knew Taylor would picture him with his beloved dog, Jordan, alongside him. He extensively trained Jordan from the time he was at Ole Miss and he took her everywhere with him. He used to show off all she would do for him, one of which was fetch a drink out of the refrigerator! If you would like to honor Taylor, a donation to your local Humane Society would certainly be appreciated by dogs less fortunate as Jordan. Taylor loved the simple things in life; a good pair of boots, a great game on the TV, or just having a good conversation with someone. He loved people and although he had a simplistic approach to life, he would never turn down an opportunity to debate you in just about any topic that you could think of, whether it was politics, geography, history, and especially sports. His intellect would draw you in and once you were there, it was hard to leave a conversation. On May 11, unbelievably, his short life ended alongside his beloved daughter Presley. They so loved each other and died with each other. Their lives will be celebrated together. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tontitown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Andrews, Sam Greenlee, Jason Collins, John Hickman, John Lester and Chad Shears. Arrangements are with Heritage Funeral Home; online guest book at www.heritageofnwa.com.
