Roy Gene Mason, 82 year old resident of Siloam Springs, Ark., died May 5, 2016 at St. John's Hospital in Broken Arrow, Okla. Born Aug. 18, 1933 in Siloam Springs, Ark., he was the son of Joseph W. Mason and Ruth Maye (Lingle) Mason. Roy was an Army Veteran. He married Darlene Johnson June 30, 1956 in Gentry, Ark. Roy worked for Pet Milk for many years, before going to work for Auto Parts Automotive. Later, he became a part owner of Standard Auto Parts in Siloam Springs. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Siloam Springs and the Siloam Springs Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene Mason; his brother, Joseph Mason; and three sisters: Genevieve Harden, Aileen Hay, and Elizabeth Berry. He is survived by one sister, Dr. Willa Faye Mason of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Darla Scott and husband, Johnny of Tulsa, Okla. and Teresa Martin and husband, Larry of Siloam Springs; two grandsons, Weston Scott of Tulsa and Taylor Duncan of Siloam Springs; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special sister of many years, Sophie Philpott Jones. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at First Christian Church, Siloam Springs with Chaplain Nick Braschler and Rev. Larry Hendren officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
