Homer Frederick Brinkman, 87, of Bella Vista, Ark., entered eternal life, Thursday, May 5, 2016. He was born Feb. 4, 1929 in Elsmore, Kan., to Walter Herman Brinkman and Hilda Elsama Margaret Boettjer. Homer married Jo Ann Barr on June 7, 1975 in Ottawa, Kan. They moved to Bella Vista in 1990. Homer was a welder and worked as a refinery maintenance supervisor most of his life. He was a Boy Scout Master for several years. Homer enjoyed working in his shop making whatever came to his mind. If he thought of something that needed to exist he simply made it happen. He could fix anything and would rather fix than replace. Homer was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; children, David Brinkman and his wife Mary Ann of Springdale, Ark., Diane Moses and her husband Darrell of Ochelata, Okla., Diane Mankin, of New Mexico, and Lynda Leazure, husband Bobby of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Margaret Brinkman of Kansas and a brother, Richard Brinkman and wife, Linda of Kansas. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at New Life Christian Church, 103 Riordan Road, Bella Vista, Ark. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 210 N. Walton Blvd #25, Bentonville, Ark. 72712 or Shih Tzu Rescue at tzuzoorescue.com.
