Linda Ruth Durham Hamilton

Linda Ruth Durham Hamilton, a long time Bentonville resident, died suddenly on March 28, 2016 in Bentonville, Ark. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Corsicana, Texas on April 26, 1944. She was a graduate of North Texas State University. She was an avid seamstress, genealogist, and a member of the Junior Auxiliary, the National Parliamentarian Association and the National PTA. She was a past President of the Arkansas PTA and subsequently was a Regional Director of the National PTA covering the states of Mississippi, Louisiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. She married Robert Hamilton on May 16, 1970. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, David Hamilton of Bryant, Ark., and Douglas Hamilton of Lawrence, Kan.; her sister, Janice Durham Swarts of Wichita Falls, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Jill Hamilton; her three grandchildren, Micah, Leah, and Austin Hamilton of Bryant, Texas and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by those who called or regarded her as their host mother, second mother, grandmother, aunt, or distant genealogical cousin. Following funeral services at First Methodist Church in Nocona, Texas, Mrs. Hamilton was buried alongside her parents at Union Cemetery in Bonita, Texas.
