Verl Theodore Terry, 95 of Springdale, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2016. Verl was born on September 2, 1920 in Herrican, Arkansas to Jesse Benton and Clercy (Osborn) Terry. Verl was preceded in death by 4 sisters, and 1 brother. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Shaw Terry of the home; one brother, Harold Russell Terry of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; two daughters, Comella Aliff and husband Earl of Springdale; Verlene Scroggins and husband Steve of Rogers, Arkansas; two grandsons, Mike Scroggins and wife Kahla of Lowell, Arkansas and Brian Aliff of Cave Springs, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Terri Miller and husband Duane of Elkins, Arkansas and six great-granddaughters. Verl attended Oklahoma Tech and majored in upholstery. He was a member of Glory Bound Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas and he enjoyed singing special music for church services. Verl retired from Merck, Sharp and Dome Medical Company. After his retirement, he worked as a Wal-Mart Greeter until he was 83 years old. Verl was a World War II Veteran in the Navy and served his country faithfully in six major battles in the Pacific during WWII. Verl touched the hearts and lives of many people and he was loved by everyone who had the opportunity to meet him. His Christian life was a blessing to others and an example of God's great love. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Funeral services for Verl will be 2 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Sisco Funeral Chapel.
