Donald Lewis Haller

Pea Ridge, Arkansas and former Monte Vista resident Donald Lewis Haller, 83, passed away March 24, 2016 at the Life Care Center in Pueblo, Colorado. Donald was born in Monte Vista, Colorado the son of George J. and Mary L. (Frost) Haller on March 9, 1933. He married Charlotte JoAnn Edman in 1960 and they enjoyed more than 35 years together until her death in 1995. Donald worked as an Engineer in Aerospace for North American, which is now known as Northrip, and then for Douglas Aircraft where he built DC10's. He then moved to Scott Paper Company, which is now PGI Nonwovens, and retired after 20 years. Donald was a very kind and generous person who was loved by all and never knew a stranger. He had a good work ethic and a drive for excellence. Being very mechanically inclined he excelled as an artistic draftsman and was an accomplished woodworker. He also enjoyed working on and restoring old cars. Donald is remembered as being very considerate of others and a loving person. He is survived by his children, Doug Haler of Monte Vista, Colorado and Lisa Van Sickle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Jorja, Justin and Jasmine; one great-grandchild; his brother, Chuck Haller of Monte Vista; as well as his closest lifelong friends, Mavis and Ron Downing of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; and numerous nieces. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his brother, Bill Haller. Cremation was chosen and services will be held at a later date.
