Harvey G. Provost

Harvey G. Provost, 90, of Siloam Springs, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Arkansas Veterans Home in Fayetteville. Harvey was born on September 17, 1925 in the Logan Community, a son of Bernie Provost and Bessie Pearl Carney Provost. He married AQ Tosh on November 16, 1959. Harvey had been a truck driver and a diesel mechanic, having worked for Kenworth in Springdale for many years where he earned an award for being the top mechanic and also for McKee Foods from which he retired. Harvey was a proud veteran having served in the Merchant Marines and also in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved woodworking, gardening, going to the lake, motorcycling, singing Southern Gospel Music and playing his harmonica. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church of Siloam Springs. He is survived by his wife, AQ Provost of the home; one son, Tim Provost and wife Kimmie of Siloam Springs; four daughters, Shirley Provost Dilbeck and husband Loren of Siloam Springs, Diana Provost Haxel and husband Ken of Fayetteville, Ronda Provost Blevins of Van Buren, and Cathy Jones and husband K.C. of Cincinnati, Ark.; one sister, Carrie Davenport of Siloam Springs; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Harvanna Provost. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Liberty Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, Ark., from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow immediately after at the church at 11 a.m. Pastor Wes Flaugh and retired Pastor Ralph DeVore will officiate the service with burial being held at the Springtown Cemetery under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home.
