Nancy Louise Cope

Nancy Louise Smith Cope went to be with The Lord March 14, 2016. She was born February 2, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant, Pa. Preceding her in death was her husband of 47 years, Donald A. Cope and youngest son, Lawrence. She enjoyed life to the fullest while living in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Arkansas. She felt she was very blessed in her family and all the friends she made along the way. While in Pennsylvania she was privileged to play in the only V.F.W. all girls band. She also was chosen to sing in the Pennsylvania All State Chorus and the only girl in the brass section in Pennsylvania All State Orchestra. While living and raising their children in Michigan, she was one of the first women to serve on the Little League Board. She worked full and part-time in daycare centers in both North Little Rock and Fayetteville. After retirement, she did volunteer work in her church with Community Meals, Community Emergency Outreach and The Attic. She sang in the Senior Saints Choir. Surviving are her sons, Donald Scott of Hot Springs, James and wife, Mary of Elkins and Douglas and wife, Cynthia of Michigan; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Shirley Mossner of Michigan; and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Central United Methodist Church with Reverend Tony Holifield officiating. The family asks in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Central United Methodist Church Music Department, Community Meals, Rural Builders or the Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E.
