Leon (Lee) Clifford Hansen, 92, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died February 25, 2016 at Circle of Life Hospice, Legacy Village. He was born February 22, 1924 in Minneapolis, Minn. to Carl Hansen and Olivia Hansen. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was on the Battleship USS New Mexico as Signalman 2/C. Lee and family lived in Overland Park, Kansas for 35 years before retiring to Bella Vista in 1989. He valued time with family and loved their yearly trips to Estes Park, Colorado. He enjoyed time with friends playing golf and tennis. He was a very active member with United Lutheran Church. He enjoyed singing in the choir, serving on the Council, assisting others through the Stephen Ministry, and was a volunteer tutor for many years with Gravette Elementary School. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Daniels. Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Joyce Hansen; four sons, David and wife, Kathleen, Doug and wife, Jan, Dennis and wife, Kathrine, Rick and wife, Vicki; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on March 4, 2016 at United Lutheran Church.
