Charles M. Bass, age 78, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away from this life on February 28, 2016, at his home in Exeter. Mr. Bass, son of Chester and Effie (Sanders) Bass was born on July 6, 1937, in Doniphan, Missouri. He severed in the United States Marine Corp for 21 years; fighting in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War rising in rank to 2nd Lieutenant. Mr. Bass enjoyed fishing, riding horses, and going to yard sales. Survivors include his wife, Juanita (Stephens) Bass, of Exeter; three sons, Charlie Bass and his wife Starla, of Westville, Oklahoma, Curtis Bass of Palm Springs, California, and Chris Bass and his wife Shelly of Gentry, Arkansas; two daughters, Kathy Neil and her husband Steve of Highfill, Arkansas, and Melenie Mitchell and her husband Scott, of Chewy, Oklahoma; one step-son, Bill Banks and his wife Jeannie of Washburn; two step-daughters, Trish Farmer and her fiance' Anthony Bruno of Lowell, Arkansas, and Vera Bise and her husband James of Bentonville, Arkansas; two sisters, Rosalie Ivey and Louise Hughes, both of Joplin; 23 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife in 2006, and his grandson, Joseph. A private family burial will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016, in Proctor, Oklahoma. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
