Helen Elizabeth West Martin Botterbrodt, 83, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away peacefully after succumbing to Leukemia on June 21, 2016 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Iva West, her husband, Patrick Martin Sr, granddaughter Hannah Martin, sisters – Connie West, Sue Phillips and Linda Thomas, brothers – Perry West, and Carsey West, sister-in-law, Barbara West and nephew, Jimmy Kelly Jr. She is survived by her husband, David Botterbrodt of the home, children Cathy & (Bob) Caudle of Springdale, Ark., Pat & (George) Bollier of Hot Springs Village, Ark., David & (Edith) Martin of Springdale, Ark., Patrick & (Ann) Martin, Jr., of Flower Mound, Texas, a sister, Lavada West of Fayetteville, Ark.; granddaughters, Courtney Collyge of Dallas, Texas and Taylor Martin of Springdale, Ark.; grandsons, Michael Collyge of Springdale, Ark., Matt Bollier & (Susan) of San Francisco, Calif., and Joseph Martin of Flower Mound, Texas as well as several nieces and nephews and one great-grandchild. She had four stepchildren, Dan & (Rhonda) Botterbordt of Hawaii, David J. Botterbrodt of Iowa, Debbi & (Mike) Belch of Texas, and Dianna & (Joel) Toby of Texas. Helen was born in Van Buren, Ark. on June 14, 1933 to Perry and Iva West and was the oldest of seven children. She was co-owner of the D-Lux restaurant in Fayetteville, Ark., with her husband, Patrick Martin, Sr. As a founding member of PRIDE in Dickson Street, this organization went on to become Springfest. After her retirement from the restaurant business, she worked for Swansons, Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and Fayetteville Public Schools. In addition, she was active in her community and served as a constable in Washington, County, Ark. Pallbearers are Chipper Phillips, Michael Collyge, Courtney Collyge, Joseph Martin, Matt Bollier, and Taylor Martin. Viewing will be at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, Ark. ((206 W Center St.), on Friday, June 24, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and funeral services will be at First United Pentecostal Church in Fayetteville, Ark. (3701 W. Wedington Dr.) at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. (901 Jones Rd.) or American Cancer Society.
