Howard Dilworth Baird, of Fayetteville, Ark., went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2016 at the age of 90. He was born April 21, 1926 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Harold and Gertrude Baird. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Baird and Clyde Baird. Howard is survived by his loving wife of almost 34 years, Naomi Luna Baird; his brother, John Baird (Betty) and his sons: Bruce Baird, Steve Baird, Doug Baird (Judy), Grant Baird (Jan); stepson, Mike Moseley and stepdaughter, Pam Hazel. Howard is also survived by grandsons: Steven Baird, Taylor Baird (Kristie), Cooper Baird, Mitchell Baird; granddaughter, Afton Hamm (Chris). He is also survived by step granddaughters: Kristina Taylor, Misty Hamrick, Crystal Moseley, Lindsey Beach (Micah) and step grandson, Andy Hazel (Lindy); and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren who all loved him dearly. Howard was a veteran of WWII. After joining the Navy, he served on two submarines, the USS Puffer and USS Archerfish. He always had very fond memories of his time in the Navy and his service to his country. After his honorable discharge, he attended and graduated from St. Cloud State University. After college, Howard went to work for Armour before moving to Tyson Foods as their Vice President of Industrial Relations and held that position for 23 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a devoted member and one of the founders of St. Gabriel's Anglican Church. Besides family, he loved his music (Jazz), cooking, fly, fresh and salt water fishing and spending time at his other home in Florida, and his fulfilling happiness came from his life he shared with his wife, Naomi and family. The family would like to express their many thanks to the caring employees of the Fayetteville Veterans Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Gabriel Church, 1803 W. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Sisco Funeral Chapel at 705 West Meadow Avenue, Springdale Ark. from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 13 2016. On Tuesday, June 14 2016, services will begin at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Anglican Church at 1803 West Emma Avenue, Springdale Ark. Interment will follow services at Spring Creek Cemetery, 13430 S.
