Johnny Walter Drinnon Jr.

Johnny Walter Drinnon Jr., 86, of Kingston, Arkansas passed away on the 8th of June 2016. John was born on the 29th of June 1929 in Bee, Oklahoma. John was a Christian and a devoted member of the Elkhorn Church, a twenty-two year retired U. S. Air Force veteran serving his career as an air policeman. He was a Korean War Veteran, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, a lifetime member of the Kingston American Legion and a lifetime member of the Madison County Veterans of Foreign Wars. After retirement, John raised cattle and enjoyed every square inch of his 200 acre farm located east of Kingston. Due to hearing loss, John spent many years of his life unable to hear and carry on a conversation with his grandchildren. As his great-grandchildren came along, John chose to endure a new cutting edge surgery that enabled him to hear again after more than 30 years. After his ear surgery, John always had a smile on his face, especially around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Walter Drinnon and Clara Mollie Russell-Drinnon, three children, Barbara Drinnon-Shuster, Tommy Drinnon and Johnny Walter Drinnon III. Survivors include his wife of their home, Mary Akins-Drinnon, one daughter, Debbra Kay and son-in-law Tom Little of Kingston; grandson, Jeremy and great-grandchildren, Chris and Jacob Bancroft of Alma, Arkansas; grandson, Travis his wife Hillary and great-grandchildren Bryce, Braydon and Baylor Bancroft of Kingston. Arrangements were entrusted in the care of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville with services held Saturday the 11th of June at the Elkhorn Church with Brothers Doyle Root and Brent Johnson officiating. U.S. Air Force Military graveside services were held at the Liberty Cemetery with pallbearers provided by members of the Kingston American Legion and the Madison County VFW.
