The Reverend Charles Edward Strode, 65, of Fayetteville, Ark., died July 24, 2016 at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born July 19, 1951 at Kingston, Ark., the son of Orvil Wayne and Geraldine Guthrie Strode. A hardworking man throughout his life, he covered many different fields of labor doing whatever was needed to provide for this family, including several years of operating his successful pest control business. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Charles loved Jesus and preached God's love throughout his life. He passed on the love of Christ to his children and grandchildren, was an active and devoted member of New LIfe Tabernacle in Fayetteville, Ark. Charles also touched many lives through his radio ministry titled Help for the Hurting. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, family members and church family. Survivors include two sons, Jason Edward Shrode of Elkins, Ark., and Charlo Wayne Strode of Fayetteville, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle Lea and Scott Sherwin and Cynthia Marie and Timothy Farmer, all of Winslow, Ark.; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Russell Strode of Salt Lake City, Ark., Jerry Strode of Texarkana, Texas, David Strode of Ceres, Calif., Ron and Stella Strode of Longview, Wash., and Randy and Jennifer Strode of Spring Grove, Ark.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Carolyn and Jerry Young of Elkins, Ark., and Sharon Andrews of Kelso, Wash., and grandchildren, Olivia Richelle More, Seth Austin Mitchell, Nathan Lee Farmer, Lauren Christi Strode, Leah Jean Farmer, Jake Edward Strode, Timmy Wayne Farmer and Gracie Kay Farmer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at New Life Tabernacle with The Reverends John Martin and Randy Strode Officing. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at the Mossville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home-Huntsville. www.brashearsfuneralhome.net.
