Dorothy Marie Ward

Dorothy Marie Ward, 87 of Springdale passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at her home. She was born July 8, 1928 in Fallsville, Arkansas to Sol and Jennie James Sutherlan. Dorothy was secretary of the Free Holiness Church for most of her life and was a cashier for Poor Boy Market in her younger years. She was a caregiver of her mother, her mother-in-law and a homemaker. She loved going to church, reading her bible, cooking, and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ward, her parents, her grandson, Jesse Lee Smith, her siblings, Arthur Sutherlan, Ann Arbaugh, Rev. Carlie Sutherlan, and an infant baby sister. Survivors include three daughters, Glenda Sue Proud and husband John of Springdale, Shirley Ann Hess and husband John of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Evelyn Maxine Bullard and husband David of Winslow; grandchildren, Kim Proud and Bryan Proud both of Springdale, Kevin Johnston and Zach Hess of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma;, Dustin Bullard of Port Wentworth, Georgia, and Dexter Smith of Guyton, Georgia, great-grandchildren Aaron Ellis-Smith of West Fork, Jackson and Tyler Proud of Calabasas, California, Kaityn Johnston of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Lilana Bullard of West Fork, god-grandchildren Ashley Lamm Hall of Denver, CO and Lauren Lamm of Los Angeles, CA and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Mercy and Grace Cathedral with Rev Larry Marler and Rev Vernon Fowler officiating. Interment will be Monday, February 1st at 10 a.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 29, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
