Stephen Lawrence Sabo

Stephen Lawrence Sabo, was born Feb. 9, 1949 in Bridgeport, Conn. to Stephen Andrew and Anne (Zver) Sabo. He was drafted into the U. S. Army in 1967 and served two years stationed in Germany. In 1970 Steve married Linda M. Brooks, also of Bridgeport, Conn. In 1975 they settled in Yellville, Ark. and built a home there. They had a daughter, Amanda Lynn Sabo (Westminster, Vt.). In 1979 Stephen moved to Fayetteville, Ark. and married Josephine Humbert. He was skilled in all aspects of home construction and worked in home building and remodeling in the northwest Arkansas area for many years. Mr. Sabo also served as the Certified Building Official in Johnson, Elm Springs, Bethel Heights, Northwest Arkansas Airport and Tontitown for many years. Steve was an excellent cook and anyone fortunate to eat at his table was well fed. Steve knew a wide variety of friendships. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fine wine, music, fast cars, quiet days on Beaver lake, time with his family and bright moments. He was dedicated to his family and worked hard to provide for them. Those who knew Steve will remember him as an extraordinary and genuine man who lived with passion and soul. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away."- Thoreau He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Josephine Humbert-Sabo; a son, David Sabo; two daughters, Avril Sabo Martinez and Amanda Lynn Sabo; he is also survived by three sisters of Bridgeport, Conn., Karen Moreo (Ralph), Stephanie Sheehy (Pat) and Sue Anne Stott (Paul); as well as a niece (Cassie) and two nephews (Jesse and Paul). He is preceded in death by a son, Stephen Andrew Sabo, a brother, Gerald and his parents. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at Beard's Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Beard's Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at the funeral home. Condolences at www.beardsfuneralchapel.com.
