Bill Allison

Bill Allison, 86 year-old resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas died January 19, 2016 at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital. Born November 6, 1929 near Fayetteville, he was the son of James Walter and Ethel Robbins Allison. Bill married Carol Lillard in 1956 in Siloam Springs. He graduated from Gentry High School and attended John Brown University. He served in the US Army and worked for Allen Canning Company for 46 years until his retirement. He was a leader, Sunday School teacher, and Deacon at First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs for over 60 years. He served his community on the Siloam Springs Hospital Board of Trustees and the Siloam Springs School Board from 1970-80. He also served on the Board of Trustees of Ouachita Baptist University for two terms. He was a devoted father and husband and a friend and a mentor to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Allison and his wife of 52 years, Carol. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dean and Don Allison and his sisters, Helen Adams and Ruby Potter. He is survived by his wife, Lillian, and one sister, Velma Bartholomew of Sandpoint, Idaho. He is also survived by three sons: Dale and Nancy Allison of Charlotte, N.C., James and wife Chieko of Sapporo, Japan, and Dr. John Allison and wife Kelly of Siloam Springs. He is also survived by six granddaughters; Carole, Laura, Sarah, Hannah, Meg, and Karen. A funeral will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs with Rev. Steve Abbott officiating. A graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs. Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs will be in charge of arrangements.
