Edwin J. "Rocky" Spomer

Edwin J. "Rocky" Spomer, 94, passed away at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville, Ark. on January 7, 2016. Rocky was born on May 17, 1921 in Lincoln, Neb. to the late John Spomer and Lydia (George) Spomer. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Margaret "Marcy" Spomer & his sister, Elaine (Spomer) Hall. Rocky served in the USMC from 1942 until 1945. After his service, he continued his employment with the railroad industry. He retired from the BNSF Railroad in 1981. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Ministries for many years. He is survived by his three children: Michael B. Spomer & wife Kim of Albuquerque, N.M.; Michele A. Miller & husband Mike of Springdale, Ark.; and John S. Spomer of Boerne, Texas; one sister, Jane Hacker of Lincoln, Neb.; and one brother, Don Spomer of Rancho Mirage, Calif. A private family service will be held at a later date.
