Barbara Jane Gilbert

Barbara Jane Gilbert, 75, of Springdale, died Saturday, January 2, 2016. She was born November 7, 1940 in Johnson to Burtice Dayne and Mamie (Wilson) Johnson. Barbara enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking and caring for her family. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Marion and Lee Johnson; two sisters, Ina Mae Newberry and Doris Ferguson; and a great-grandson, Edward West. She is survived by two children, Roger Gilbert, Cheryl Barron and husband Bobby, and one sister, Marie Morris, all of Springdale; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and former husband, Jack Gilbert, of Tonganoxie, Kansas. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, online guest book at www.heritageofnwa.com.
