Norma Jean Beene Ellis Cutler passed away on February 19,2016 in Harrison, Arkansas at the age of 75. She was born on May 30, 1940, in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Ben and Sallie Beene, granddaughter of Matt and Sally Beene and James and Elva Majors, all of Harrison. She was married to Bennie Ellis from 1957 until his death in 1994, and has been married to John Cutler since October 1, 2005. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, February 26th, 2016, at Holt Memorial Chapel. Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Harrison, with Revs. Rob Davis, Robert Shaddox and Dennis Coop officiating. Interment will be at Crossroads Cemetery in Harrison under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of Baker Prairie of Harrison and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra of Little Rock. Norma is survived by her husband John Cutler; daughter, Cheri Thriver of Little Rock, daughter Carol Anne Essen (Dan) of Fayetteville; grandsons James Honaker (Kee Gibson) of Sherman Oaks, California, and Ben Honaker (Heather) of Little Rock; and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sally Jo Hickman, and husband Bennie Ellis. Norma was a lifelong resident of Harrison, Arkansas. She enjoyed the beauty of North Arkansas and the Buffalo River. She was a dedicated Razorback fan who travelled to most home games and closely followed away games. She loved to read, and had an expansive love of music. Norma was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Harrison. She was the co‐owner and operator of Pine Tree Press in Harrison from 1969 to 1996. Norma was a community leader in sustainable stewardship of natural resource and a founding member of the Friends of Baker Prairie. She was a member of the Harrison Rotary Club and the Board of Trustees of North Arkansas College.
